We Visited 8 Storage Branches in Hong Kong — Here Are the Things That Spoke to Us

Eight destinations all purport to solve the same issue: Get you space that you lack at home. They nearly were paperwise identical. The same price, the same size of the objects, the same guarantees in connection to security and convenience. A visit to each of them, however, was telling an entirely different story. Check this out for more information!

Others still were smoothed off immediately. Washing floors, good lighting, legibility. You had no need of instruction where to go. Others… not so much. Darkness, perverted form, that stifling odor that makes you wonder whether you have put the lock on your property one hundred more times.

The first element that divided them was place. The two of the branches were technically central but access was made following clumsy walks or sequence of turns once out of the MTR. It does not sound too big until the time when you have to carry boxes. The farther the branches were apart in point of access to important exits, or street system on direct streets, the better it seemed.

Then there were the layouts. This is not what I was looking into. The storage units that appeared to be big in the internet were small in the real world. Low ceilings, angles, narrow corridors, it makes you change the way you move. One of the roads was broader and it was quite a difference than that which had been anticipated. You did not feel like stepping over a person constantly.

The communication among the staffs was also dissimilar. There were some spots where it was hurried on, like those who are taking another guided tour. Quicker responses, reduced clarification. The employees even went to an extent of taking time to tell what you were storing at the others. They relied on real life examples to their recommendations on the size of the units rather than the price levels. That rendered the experience less transactional.

Neatness as well was not the same. The majority of them were good, and some were quite or somewhat of deterioration, dusty niches, worn doors, and nothing much that was still quite visible. Even when you are packing away personal things the small things are imprinted in your head.

The security was relatively in every matter, cameras, access control and locked units. But the ones above which made it clear. You have seen the systems without consulting them. It provided an unofficial guarantee.

It had odd pricing. Other departments were cheaper, but had strings to them when you enquired. There were others less complicated. There was no least expensive place where all was explained, there were no confusing words, there were no supplementary things. Nothing was bad about such candor.

The even the extraordinary branch was not flawless. It was simply capable of doing things simultaneously. Availability, excellent hygiene, friendly personnel and a design that was not that of a maze. No glitzy, and simply good.

Funny enough it was not the one that was the most advertised or most active in its pricing. It was the one which could be applied to the practical day-to-day use. That was even more than that and having visited eight of the storage branches in Hong Kong.
